La Herencia® Grilled Tri-Tip with Citris Marinade

Serves: 3 to 5
Time to prep: 2 to 4 hours

1 La Herencia Tri-Tip, approximately 2 lbs.

1 orange, zested then juiced

1 lime, zested then juiced

½ tsp. ground black pepper

1 tsp. kosher salt

1 tsp. dried oregano

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 Tbsp. olive oil

1 small white onion, sliced

1 head Bibb lettuce, washed

1 avocado, seeded, sliced

2 Roma tomatoes, sliced

2 Tbsp. sliced red onions

1 Tbsp. olive oil

½ lime squeezed

Salt and pepper

Cilantro sprigs

Seasoned pinto beans

Golden rice

  1. Place the tri-tip steak into a zipper sealable bag. Add all marinade ingredients to bag and gently mix. Squeeze excess air out of bag and let marinate for 1-4 hours.
  2. Pre-heat the oven to 425 degrees. Sear steaks in skillet over medium high heat, and then place into oven to cook until desired doneness, about 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and let steak sit on cutting board while you prepare salads.
  3. Arrange lettuce, avocado, tomatoes, and onions on serving plates. Drizzle the salad with olive oil, and lime. Season the salad with salt and pepper. Place golden rice and pinto beans on plate next to salad. Slice the steak and lay next to the sides, garnish with cilantro sprig if desired. Enjoy!
